UNFILTERED Deeper and darker than the 2003, this edition has delightful fruit and body. It was made from cabernet grapes grown in the cool Carneros region, usually planted in cool weather grapes like pinot noir and chardonnay. The fact is that these grapes take longer to ripen there, giving them more "hang time" to develop more flavor and fruit. Also, the vines were planted in 1950, so I consider them old, developing more intense taste. With decanting for air, this wine is enjoyable now; I suspect it will become great over the next 7 years. 100 cases produced. Alc. 13.8% by vol. One (wo)man's opinion: "This has become my favorite wine in your line up. The fruit does it for me" Kerry Kirkham, San Rafael, CA
