The Ross Valley Winery Wine Tasting Society

We have had many tasters ask us about a Ross Valley Wine Club. That's a good thing, so I decided to design an instrument to which I'd like to belong if I weren't the owner of the winery. The connotation of a "Tasting Society" sounds much, much cooler than "The Ross Valley Winery Mailing list", or even "The Ross Valley Winery Wine Club".

The purpose of the Ross Valley Winery Tasting Society is to provide our wines effortlessly to members in a way that they can reliably taste and sample our latest releases without coming to the winery physically, so the members can order additional wines they like as gifts or for their own consumption.

Peoples' lives are so busy, most of us don't have time to fold our laundry, let alone stay on top of their local winery's production. And while we really love having visitors to our tasting room, we recognize that the parking arrangements in downtown San Anselmo are not good at best and horrible at their worst.

Because we are a very small winery, we will send out our society's wines (the two bottle shipments) once a quarter, every other month or monthly, with an additional optional special Holiday package and a Springtime special package offering. Our service is totally "customizable," meaning that you have the option of changing the shipment contents, amounts or dates. However, this is the first part of the 21st Century and the way we communicate is with e-mail. You must have an e-mail address to participate in our Club (and actually read your e-mail regularly).

When you sign up, you provide us with a shipping address (a work address is more efficient than a home address) and your preference for  (a) one red, one white, or (b) both reds. We will ship them to the address you provide, include some information about them and charge the credit card you provide us.

We will send you two bottles of our most current releases. We will discount the wines in this package to members so that both bottles will cost no more than $40.00, plus tax and shipping (you pay only the shipping charges we are charged by UPS, shipping is not a profit center at our winery.) Because we may not release two new wines every quarter, we will decide which wines we want to include in your package and will e-mail you with that information. You can check our website- http://rossvalleywinery.com/wine.htm for our current inventory and retail prices and substitute like-priced wines for the ones we are planning to send you.

For example, if I were sending out your package today and you were a red-red person, I might include a bottle of our  Leoni Cabernet (retail $26.00) and a bottle of our 2005 Oller Merlot (retail $23.00), and send you an e-mail saying the cost before shipping and tax was $40.00 ---a $9.00 discount--- that you can make a substitution in the general price range of a particular bottle, but we are shipping next Wednesday and need to hear from you before then if you want to substitute or change the address.

As a member, you will be offered special tastings should you make your way to our San Anselmo tasting room, and you will receive 20% discounts on any of our wines you purchase through the Society or in the tasting room. In addition, the winery holds occasional events, such as this month's shrimp and Sauvignon Blanc of the world bash, to which Society Members will have a standing invitation. To receive the discounts in our tasting room, you must identify yourself with your name to whoever is behind the cash register.

To join, send us the information required.your name and shipping address (no PO boxes), your credit card account information with expiration date, your e-mail address and your preference for red/red, white/white or red/white selections. If you would prefer to do this all now, online I have set up an order form which for 50 cents (charge not processed) will get all the information to me to sign you up. In the comments section you must write red/red or red/white  to indicate your selection preferences.
